Workplace Health is a preferred medical provider for major insurers including Maine Employers Mutual Insurance Company (MEMIC) and Maine Motor Transport Association (MMTA).
A systematic and well-communicated approach to injury-reporting will help your company to manage costs of injuries, defend frivolous claims, and help employees return quickly to productive work. Contact Workplace Health before injuries occur in order to help us to get to know you and your company policies and procedures. To select Workplace Health as a preferred provider for your company fill out our Choose Workplace Health form, or call 207-872-4455.
Whenever an injury or illness appears to be serious or life-threatening call 911 or the nearest ambulance/rescue or emergency services.
The first 24-48 hours of every claim is critical.
When a workplace injury or illness occurs, get immediate, appropriate care for your employee. This does not prevent you from later controverting a claim.
- Contact Workplace Health immediately so that the injured employee may be seen as soon as possible. For an injured employee to be seen at Workplace Health in Augusta call: 207-621-0422, in Waterville, call: 207-8724455.
- Report the injury or illness to your workers compensation insurer immediately.
- Investigate the accident/incident to determine cause and to prevent recurrence
It has been our experience that the vast majority of patients treated at Workplace Health return to work without incurring lost time days.
Focus on patient responsibility
It is our treatment philosophy and expectation that the individual employee will take an active role in his/her recovery process. Activity guidelines may be provided for home in addition to work.
